The food plan I propose will un-damage your health and will decrease your risk of developing such diseases by balancing your blood sugar levels which is the contributing factor to your weight problems.
We all need sugar (glucose) in our body. It is used by the brain and muscles where it is used for energy but the excess goes to the liver where it’s turned into fat and stored, causing you to gain weight. By balancing your blood sugar level you will have a steady supply of energy and a healthy but stable appetite. This in turn helps you to maintain your correct weight.
By changing the types and combinations of food you eat and exercising we will be able to reprogramme your body to burn fat rapidly, increasing your metabolism. Low-calorie diets are not effective as eating too few calories causes your metabolic rate to slow down, conserving fat. You suffer to lose weight and naturally develop a rebound effect once you start consuming more calories.
Not all types of fat are bad for your weight and your health. My plans are filled with essential fats from fish and seeds, which have many proven health benefits for example they are used by your brain, nerves, arteries and skin and they balance your hormones and boost your immunity. They also help with weight management! In my plans, we will concentrate on increasing the intake of essential fats and minimising the consumption of saturated fats which contribute to weight gain.
High-protein diets balance your blood sugar level but they don’t work any better than other conventional diets and they damage your health in the long run. Such diets have been linked to an increased risk of cancers of the colon, breast, prostate, pancreas and kidneys, according to the World Cancer Research Fund. Many people believe that being overweight is determined by genes and there is no point in focusing on one’s diet. But you are NOT doomed by your genes. Less than 5% of human diseases are genetically determined. Your health is in your own hands, or rather, on your plate.
Health issues are a result of your total environmental load (what you eat, drink, breathe, do and think) exceeding your genetic ability to adapt. Nutritional therapy is here to create a balance.
